Dramatic combat workshop in Oct Half Term












Dramatic combat
Dramatic Combat is an excellent tool for helping young people understand how to use physicality and practice using their bodies. Suitable for any age group, this workshop will introduce students to fight choreography and unarmed combat skills used in theatre and film and the importance of storytelling and communication when in conflict. No experience of stage combat required.

(2 groups; 8-11yrs & 12yrs+)

Fight director & performer Dan Styles is a BADC (British Academy of Dramatic Combat) trained stage combatant but before he trained in stage combat he became a professional wrestler, leading workshops and entertaining the masses. This session will let you find your inner Hulk Hogans & Harley Quinns. Be prepared to get sweaty!

Time: 9.30am-12.30pm
Location: Guide Hall, Burgess Hill
Cost is £55 per child & £45 per sibling


Lion King Rhapsody
Summer School (6-18yrs)
Date: Tuesday 2nd - Friday 5th August 2016 (inclusive)
Time: 10.00am-3.00pm
Location: Scout HQ, Burgess Hill
Cost is £100 per child & £90 per sibling

Both workshops are a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn new skills and work as a team, discovering their own versatility and giving them the inspiration to develop their theatre skills.

Our workshops are open to everyone with no previous experience necessary. An enthusiasm to explore drama, dance and singing within a creative environment is a must! Parents will be invited to a costumed performance on the last day of each workshop.

Early drop off from 9am and late stay options until 3.30pm also available for an additional £5 per child per hour of the workshop day.

WHAT TO EXPECT


JK Theatre Arts Experience Days are an invitation to young people who wish to explore drama, dance and singing within an independant theatre company with a glowing reputation for bringing out the very best in young talent.

The sessions are open to anyone aged 3-19 years and classes are run at both JK schools in Ardingly and Burgess Hill.

There really is nothing like performing arts for building confidence and self-esteem in a child. All you have to do is book your child’s complimentary first session today. So what are you waiting for?
